Overview
Founded in 1979, Samitivej Hospitals is one of the leading private hospital groups in Thailand. The main facility, Samitivej Sukhumvit Hospital on Sukhumvit Soi 49, is recognised as one of the leading private hospitals in Southeast Asia. Since its inception the group has grown to include Samitivej Srinakarin on the east of Bangkok, Samitivej Sriracha in the southeast of Thailand, and Samitivej Srinakarin Children’s Hospital, opened in July 2003 as the first of its kind in the country.
The group has a long history of care and innovation. In 1999 Samitivej was recognised as a Mother and Baby Friendly Hospital by WHO and UNICEF, the first hospital in Thailand to receive the honour. Other recognitions include the Prime Minister Award for the Most Recognised Service in 2004 and accreditation from the Hospital Accreditation Board of Thailand.
Samitivej positions itself as a tertiary healthcare provider, combining comprehensive medical technology with highly qualified specialists and experienced caregivers. Multi-lingual staff, interpreters, and immigration services make it a hospital of choice for expatriates and international patients across the region.
