Overview
Apollo Hospitals began as a 150-bed hospital in Chennai in 1983, founded on Dr. Prathap C. Reddy’s vision of bringing quality healthcare within the reach of every individual. What started amid much scepticism has grown into one of India’s premier healthcare providers, playing a pioneering role in establishing the country as a centre of excellence in global healthcare.
The Apollo group today includes over 7,500 beds across 43 hospitals in India and overseas, along with neighbourhood diagnostic clinics, a chain of pharmacies, health insurance services and clinical research divisions.
Apollo Hospitals, Bangalore, the flagship hospital of the group, was established in 1983. It is among the most preferred destinations for patients from across India as well as for medical tourism, with over 60 departments spearheaded by internationally trained doctors and supported by dedicated patient-care teams.
